This print, Sake Ascension, features the salmon nigiri sushi personified. This beautiful head sits upon a bed of rice and a stream of water flows up behind her. Salmon ascending streams of water is a major part of their life cycle, it is a place they return to spawn and where they die. But the cycle continues on... This is why I incorporated the upward trajectory of the water and gave the painting the name.
